Chiyaan Vikram’s career
Chiyaan Vikram is an Indian actor and playback singer who has ruled hearts with his work in Tamil cinema. He is also known as Kennedy John Victor. The actor has a huge fan following in South industry. He has won around eight Filmfare Awards South, a National Film Award, four Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and the Kalaimamani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu. He made his debut with the romantic film En Kadhal Kanmani in 1990. He rose to fame in 1999 with Sethu.
Vikram’s hit movies
After earning praises for Sethu, he did many hit movies like Dhill, Gemini, Dhool, Saamy, Anniyan, Raavanan, Kasi, Samurai, Pithamagan, Deiva Thirumagal and Iru Mugan. Pithamagan got him the National Award for Best Actor. He did Ponniyin Selvan: I and Ponniyin Selvan: II which became big hits.
Chiyaan Vikram’s movies that never happened
Apart from all these hit films, he has been offered many big projects were either shelved midway or dropped even before it began. Today, we talk about such films that never made it to the big screen.
Karikalan (2012)
Karikalan was offered to Vikram and it was supposed to be one of his best movies. It was a historical fantasy drama and was supposed to be directed by L.I. Kannan. But later, it was passed on to other filmmakers due to issues with production house. Vikram was supposed to play the titular role of the Chola king.
Why was it shelved?
The first poster was out and stars like Zarine Khan and Radhika Apte were a part of it. However, due to financial issues, the movie was shelved.
Marma Manithan (2014)
Marma Manithan was a sci-fi thriller. Vikram was supposed to play a double role in the film. It was being directed by Anand Shankar and was supposed to be a big film in Tamil cinema. However, the film was scrapped due to script revisions and scheduling conflicts.
Amaragaathi
This was supposed to be the reunion of Vikram with director Bala after Pithamagan. But it never happened. As per reports, the creative differences between Bala and the producers was the reason why the film was dropped even before being finalised.
Vikram’s 100 crore film with Shankar
I (2015) was a big success and post that, there were reports that Vikram would be reuniting with Shankar for another big-budget film. The film was supposed to be a sci-fi drama. It was in the pre-production stage but due to budget constraints and shifting priorities, the film was dropped.
