Gareth Edwards‘ sci-fi action-adventure Jurassic World Rebirth hit the theatres last week and it is performing extremely well at the box office. Dinosaurs are grabbing attention and are drawing audiences to theatres. Jurassic World Rebirth became the first Hollywood film to have a Hindi premiere at the iconic Raj Mandir theatre in Jaipur. Well, the Jurassic franchise has had a strong connection with Indian audiences for decades.
Jurassic World: Rebirth ROARS at the Indian box office
Jurassic World: Rebirth has crossed the Rs 50-crore mark in India within six days of release and earns double that of Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino starring Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur. As per industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 3.25 crore nett to its domestic total on Wednesday and now the total collection is around Rs 50.95 crore nett.
This has marked the lowest single-day earnings as of now, but the film has become the second Hollywood release this year, after Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning which has managed to cross Rs 50 crore milestone at the Indian box office. Yes, you read that right! Jurassic World: Rebirth managed to earn USD 349.3 million globally and includes USD 174.5 million from the American box office. The film is giving competition to Superman, James Gunn’s superhero reboot. While, Metro In Dino collected Rs 2.19 crore nett on Wednesday and the total collection is around Rs 24.44 crore nett. While, Aamir Khan’s starrer Sitaare Zameen Par earned Rs 1.25 crore nett and the total domestic collection stands at Rs 153.25 crore nett.
The long-running franchise includes The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park III (2001), Jurassic World (2015), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), Jurassic World Dominion (2022), and the latest, Jurassic World Rebirth. The film is co-produced by Universal Pictures and Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and stars Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey in pivotal roles.
