Korean drama S Line is making waves across the globe with its fearless approach to storytelling. The series tackles the untouched subject, redefining the genre and pushing the boundaries in Korean television. S Line is gathering global attention for its unapologetic, bold subject that is traditionally considered taboo in K-cinema. It features Lee Soo Hyuk, Arin, and Lee Da Hee. The series has already won a big win at Cannes despite not having any big OTT platform behind it. Now, the popularity has led to the demand for its online streaming. Created by Handae Rhee and co-created and directed by Ahn Joo Young, S Line has dropped the first two episodes at Cannes Series Season 8. The six-part series sets off with a major mystery question: “What if sexual connections between people became visible as red threads?” The concept is unique, red lines start appearing on people’s heads linking with their sexual partner.
What is the story of the Korean drama S Line?
A mysterious pair of glasses sparks chaos as it reveals hidden connections, drawing secret S Lines, which are only seen by the person who wears them, causing trouble in their lives. The story follows a girl named Han Ji Wook who sets out on a mission to solve the mystery, with other characters playing their significant roles. The trailer was released on July 2, 2025.
The S Line exposes everyone’s hookups?
The mysterious thriller depicts red lines or S lines between the individuals who have been engaged in a physical relationship. Recently, on July 7, a production presentation for the team was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall. Attended by Lee Soo Hyuk, Lee Da Hee, Arin, Lee Eun Saem, and director Ahn Joo Young. Telling about the concept of the Korean drama, director Ahn Joo said, “Instead of a setting where everyone can see the S-lines, we adapted the worldview so only specific characters can perceive them. We utilized glasses as a device so only certain individuals could see the S-lines.”
Lee Soo Hyuk also shares his opinion about the unique Korean project and said, “When I first heard about the project, I was surprised — the title felt a bit provocative, and I wondered what kind of character and story it would involve. But I found the original work incredibly engaging and thought-provoking.”
S Line has not yet premiered, but the Korean drama has already made history with its unique concept. It is the third drama to be invited to a festival’s main competition after Mother and Bargain. The third and fourth episodes of the series will premiere on July 18, and the remaining two will be released on July 25.
