Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is known for its iconic characters. From Jethalal to Bhide – all of them are famous. But most famous of them all is Dayaben. Disha Vakani played the role of Dayaben in the show and won everyone’s hearts. However, post wedding and embracing motherhood, Disha Vakani chose to quit the show and focus on her family life. Since her exit, makers have been hunting for a new Dayaben. Fans are demanding that Disha Vakani returns to the show but that is not going to happen. Jennifer Mistry, who played the role of Mrs Sodhi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, spoke about Disha Vakani and spilled beans about her exit.

In an interview with entertainment news portal Pinkvilla, Jennifer Mistry shared that the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah makers begged Disha Vakani to return to the show and they continued to plead even after her delivery. However, the actress simply did not return. Jennifer Mistry also explained how Disha Vakani continued to shoot for the show until her ninth month and how a stretcher was used for her to shoot. Jennifer Mistry was quoted saying, “Disha was shooting for the show till her ninth month. Hats off to her; she wasn’t allowed to climb stairs, so they would take her up on a stretcher on the interior set. After her delivery, things must have changed with her family; she is a very family-oriented person.” She exclaimed that Disha Vakani will not return to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as she is quite engrossed in her family life. When asked if Disha Vakani had issued with the makers, Jennifer Mistry shared that she is a very private person and would not never share private details.
