The first look poster for Amazon MGM Studios India’s next film Nishaanchi has been released. The film, which was directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the Jar Pictures brand in collaboration with Flip Films, is billed as an exciting criminal drama. Aaishvary Thackeray, who will play two roles in Nishaanchi, makes his acting debut. The filmmakers guarantee the raw, grassroots narratives found in Anurag Kashyap’s films.
“The film promises gritty, action-packed storytelling and laugh out loud moments that follows the tale of two brothers—mirror images of each other, yet worlds apart, whose choices shape their destinies,” said a release.

Nishaanchi’s first look poster, which stars Aaishvary Thackeray, is bursting with colour and emotion, hinting at a world where fate, retaliation, and love collide. “Set against an atmospheric backdrop with striking visuals, the film promises all the intensity, emotion, and high-stakes storytelling of a true-blue masala entertainer,” said the release.
Along with conventional cinematic flair, the audience is given a sense of realism. The gritty, action-packed crime drama is focused on the underworld and is expected to be a true-blue masala show.
The story of two brothers- mirror reflections of one another but worlds apart- whose decisions determine their fates is told in the upcoming action-packed film.
Opening up about the project, Anurag Kashyap said in a statement, “We wrote ‘Nishaanchi’ in 2016. Since then, I have been looking to make this film the way it should be, and was looking for a studio who trusted me to do that, whole heartedly. Amazon MGM loved it, believed in it, and became the wall behind us. This is exactly what happened with all my films that people love – they were backed by great producers and great Studios. ‘Nishaanchi’ is a story full of raw human emotions, love, lust, power, crime and punishment, betrayal, redemption and the consequences of it all.”
