Two weeks have passed since the mysterious death of Chinese actor Yu Menglong, but public anger remains unabated. Meanwhile, new information continues to emerge. Famous Canadian blogger Lao Deng claims to have received Yu’s mother’s permission, after which he released Yu’s final message. The message, which includes references to financial fraud, the casting couch, conspiracies by powerful families, and names like Prince and Australian Little Princess, has shocked people. Yu died on September 11 in Beijing’s Sunshine Upper East residential complex. Police described it as an accident after drinking, but many questions remain. Leaked videos and insider accounts have further fueled public suspicion. On September 25th, Lao Deng revealed on YouTube that he already had Yu’s final message but was waiting for the family’s permission. Now, they have shared a 2,000 character message that Yu sent to his mother shortly before his death.

Yu’s message states that he was imprisoned in an apartment, with the atmosphere outside pitch-dark and terrifying. He felt anyone could kill him. In the message, he exposed the dark truth of the entertainment industry, the casting couch, money laundering, and the machinations of powerful people. He explained that he too was a victim of these conspiracies, blacklisted, and attempts were made to involve him in dirty deals. Yu wrote that his body may have been humiliated, but his soul remains pure. He told his mother that he always wanted to live honestly, but powerful people wanted to make him their puppet.
His message reads: “Mom, I’m now being held in an apartment. Outside the window it’s pitch dark, the air thick with suffocating oppression. I feel something terrible is about to happen. The shadows are closing in. I’m rushing to say goodbye because they could come in and kill me at any moment. This isn’t a joke or a hallucination—my heart is trembling. Every word I send carries the chill of despair. How did it come to this? How could a young man who only wanted to act end up here?Mom, I’m so afraid—but more afraid I won’t have time to tell you this. If this is the last time, forgive your unfilial son for not staying by your side. I once told you my success as an actor was both lucky and unlucky. Back then I naively believed the entertainment industry was just a glamorous stage where I could fulfill my dreams and make you proud. I still remember the first time I landed a role, how happy you were, making dumplings to celebrate.”
In the message, Yu mentioned the Prince and the Australian Little Princess, saying that this family is very powerful and controls everything. He appealed to his mother not to seek justice for him, as it could endanger his life. Yu wrote that if he were truly gone, his mother would remember him by watching a shooting star in the night sky. Lao Deng says that this message contains many shocking things and some information available online since 2017 proves these claims to be true. According to him, a company registered in Yu’s name may have been used to transfer funds to Australia, which raises suspicions of large-scale money laundering.
