Saiyaara directed by Mohit Suri turned launch pad for Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Though the actress had made a brief appearance in Salaam Venky, Saiyaara is her first film where she is the lead star. The movie produced by Aditya Chopra is performing fantastically well at the box office. Fans are loving every bit of it and Ahaan Panday has become a sensation. But did you know that Ahaan and Aneet weren’t the first choice for Saiyaara? Then who? As per reports, a real-life couple was first approached for the musical romantic drama.
Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda weren’t the first choice for Saiyaara?
As per a report in entertainment news portal ScoopWhoop, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani were the first choice to play Krish Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor in Mohit Suri‘s directorial venture Saiyaara. The makers had allegedly even approached the couple for the film. However, it did not materialise and Sidharth-Kiara did not come onboard Saiyaara. There is no confirmation though. The star couple’s chemistry in Shershaah was loved by all and fans would have loved to see them together back on screen, however, Saiyaara wasn’t the project for their onscreen reunion. The couple is currently enjoying the happiest phase of their lives as they are blessed with a baby girl.
Aditya Chopra’ advice to Mohit Suri
Earlier, in one of the interviews, Mohit Suri had also opened up about the casting of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in Saiyaara. In an interview, he had spoken about the advice he received from Aditya Chopra for the film. Mohit Suri revealed that the producer told him that the movie would not work at the box office with known faces. Rather, they should cast fresh faces as the story revolves around two youngsters. Aditya Chopra had also allegedly raised doubts and concern over producing a romantic drama and its box office success. He was of an opinion that currently only action movies are working at the box office. However, Mohit Suri kept faith and the result is Saiyaara. The movie has now crossed the mark of Rs 250 crore at the box office.
