On 26.06.2025, Manipur Police arrested 02 (two) active cadres of KCP (PWG) from Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, under Porompat-PS, Imphal East District, namely, (i) Laishram Suraj Singh @ Ibungo (33) of Naoremthong Laishram Leirak, Imphal West and (ii) Sapam (N) Kshetrimayum (O) Ashangbi Devi (34) of Khurai Sajor Leikai, Tinsid Road, Porompat-PS, Imphal East District. They were involved in extortion activities from general public.
From their possession the following items were recovered:
(i) 01 (one) no. of scooter,
(ii) A sum of Rs. 10, 000/- (ten thousand rupees), which they had collected as extortion money earlier in the day from individuals,
(iii) 01 (one) no. of AADHAR card and
(iii) 02 (two) nos. of mobile phones.
