Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer Saiyaara has been dominating the box office with its romantic thriller. The film has been shattering all records at the box office and has now become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year at the global box office.
Saiyaara achieves new milestone
Saiyaara achieved a new feat and it surpassed Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which won millions of hearts globally. Saiyaara creates a storm at the domestic and international box offices. According to Sacnilk, Saiyaara managed to earn Rs 94 crore in the overseas market in just 13 days. Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama had an overseas collection of Rs 91 crore. Saiyaara also became the second Hindi film to cross the Rs 90 crore mark at the international box office. Saiyaara will be seen competing for the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan, which earned Rs 124.50 crore overseas.
Saiyaara to cross Rs 500 crore mark
As per the domestic box office, Saiyaara has collected Rs 273 crore in India, and the film seems to not be slowing down. Despite it being two weeks since the film’s release, the film has been ruling the theatres despite new releases including Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2.
Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara follows the story of Vaani, an ambitious journalist, and Krish, a passionate aspiring singer. Saiyaara is expected to cross the Rs 500 crore mark soon. Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film showcases a young writer diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
TThe film has surpassed the lifetime domestic box office collections of hit films like The Kashmir Files (Rs 252.90 crore) and Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva (Rs 257.44 crore). Saiyaara has maintained strong position in worldwide markets like UAE, North America, UK and Australia. The film is reportedly ahead of Superman in terms of Per Theatre Average.
