- 1408 (2007)
Mike Enslin, a renowned writer, specializes in non-fiction works centered around the theme of haunted locations with popular titles like *Ten Nights in Ten Haunted Houses*, *Ten Nights in Ten Haunted Graveyards*, and *Ten Nights in Ten Haunted Castles*. While these books have become best-sellers, Enslin feels a sense of guilt regarding their success, as he privately admits he does not truly believe in the paranormal phenomena he explores.Following his traumatic experience, Enslin decides to stop writing entirely. He grapples with a range of physical and psychological issues resulting from his short stay in the room. He reflects, as Olin had previously stated, that there are indeed no ghosts in 1408, as ghosts were once mortal beings, while the entity he encountered was grotesquely inhuman. Ultimately, Enslin now sleeps with the lights on, has removed all the phones from his home, and always draws his curtains before nightfall; he finds it unbearable to see the yellow-orange hue at sunset that triggers memories of the light from Room 1408.
